Waiting on the Lord can be hard work. Whether you’re waiting for the results of a job interview, waiting to get married, or waiting for healing, there’s no doubt about it – waiting is difficult. It tests our patience and reserve, and sometimes it can even test our faith. Micah 7:7 reminds us of the proper stance we should take as we wait on the Lord: “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” (NIV)
The Lord is never far from us. He is right alongside us each moment that we’re waiting. Be reminded of the Lord’s goodness and reflect on His love for you. He won’t leave you hanging. He will always provide in His perfect timing. “‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in Him.’” (Lamentations 3:24 ESV) Indeed, “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” (Lamentations 3:25 ESV)
Whatever it is you’re waiting on the Lord for, know this. God sees you. He understands your heart’s desires. He has the best plan for your life and He will bring it to fruition. Trust that. Trust Him. “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:7 NASB)
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
