This week I celebrated my 29th birthday. My family took me away on a little vacation where we got to relax and spend time in wine country and by the seaside. This week also marked the start of spring, my favorite season. Both of these things got me thinking about the seasons we face throughout our lives. Seasons of celebration and of sadness. Seasons of plenty and of want. Seasons of waiting and beginning. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” (ASV) Indeed, God is the great orchestrater of our lives and He knows exactly what season we’re in at any given time. Some seasons are long and hard, while others seem fleeting. But one thing is for certain. Seasons always change.
If you’re in the midst of a hard season, be encouraged. Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (ESV) The Lord is always working things together for good. He will make a way for you – a fresh spring season. We always have that hope to hold on to. The hope of brighter days ahead, if not on this earth, then in our heavenly home. I hope you are enjoying the beauty of this new season, where the trees blossom and the flowers bloom. There’s so much hope in the air, and it all points us back to Jesus and the hope we have in Him.
For everything there is a season…
Ecclesiastes 3:1 ASV
