Sometimes we find ourselves in moments of crisis. We are surrendered to the storm and we’re drowning fast. But one shift in our perspective and we’re confronted with the truth we so desperately need to know: that God is good and He is in control. Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” (ESV) Indeed, when we seek shelter from our storms in the arms of God, we will be covered in His immeasurable peace.
The Bible emphasizes that peace that only comes from the Father. “The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11 BSB) Truly, God wants to calm our nervous minds and soothe our troubled hearts with the peace that only He can provide. It’s the peace of having an eternal perspective. Whatever your troubles are, they will not last forever. God will bring healing and closure. “For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:5 NIV) What worries are you clinging to today? Can you turn them over to the Lord in exchange for His precious peace? I hope you will!
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1
This resonates a lot with me this week. It is reassuring to believe that “God wants to calm our nervous minds and soothe our troubled hearts with the peace that only He can provide.” Thanks for continuing to give words of hope and consolation that give strength and footing when the storms of life are swirling.
