Twists and Turns

Recently, something I had thought was a sure bet ended up not working out. At first, there was that initial wave of disappointment threatening to sweep me under and keep me captive, but shortly after I got the news I broke through to the surface and turned my face to the sun. You see, I know that God is in complete control of every situation and circumstance in my life. He is beyond capable. He is all knowing. And His timing is infinitely better than anything I could have ever planned myself. These challenges are simply that – opportunities to grow our faith muscles as we lean into Him with total surrender. Through these twists and turns, I’m learning to trust Him more and more. And He is faithful. “Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; You established the earth, and it endures.” (Psalm 119:89-90 NIV)

What twists and turns are you facing right now? You may feel like your whole world is upside down, but don’t dismay. God has a plan and a purpose in all of this, and He will see you through it. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NIV) Keep pressing on, trusting and believing in His promises. Even when the disappointments come, realize that God has something greater for you still. He loves you. He treasures you. And He will come through for you. He will provide all that you need. Rest in that and keep looking up.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
