Wilting Under Worry

Lately I’ve felt like a plant without water. I’m wilting under worry. Worry about the future and worry about my present circumstances. A plethora of worries hangs over my head and I’m sinking under the weight of it all. It can feel like a lonely place, when I sit alone with my worries. But thankfully I have someone that I can always turn to in my time of need. The Bible says, “Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV) Indeed, Jesus is the best listener and confidante. We can take our anxieties to Him and know that He hears us. He longs to comfort us and give us the strength to face our fears.

Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (NLT) With God on our side, we can be certain of victory! Indeed, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NIV) The Lord is on our side. He doesn’t want us to wilt under worry, but instead to trust Him in all things. So I’m trying to trust – to be strong and courageous and bloom where I am planted. I’m soaking up His Word like water and strengthening my roots. I’m trusting Him with my life, no matter where it leads, because I know He goes before me. He cares for me and He carries my every concern. He cares for you too! Are you wilting under worry? Stand firm and remember who calls you His. With Him, you are victorious!

Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 NIV
